WESTERN NAMES CHIEF PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICER
LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Colleen Bradley was named Public Affairs Officer at Western Area Power Administration today by Administrator Mark Gabriel.
Gabriel said, “I am pleased to welcome Colleen to Western. Her experience in external, media and strategic communications will strengthen communication and transparency within Western and also with our customers and industry partners as we help power the energy frontier.”
In her new role as Western’s PAO, Bradley will develop and implement a comprehensive public affairs strategy and lead Western’s communication and outreach efforts to customers, employees, media, industry partners and elected officials across a 15-state service territory and in Washington, D.C. She will assume her new position Dec. 16.
Bradley joins Western after a six-year career as an Executive Consultant with Murano Communications in Camas, Wash., where she provided advice and consultant services to Fortune 500 companies and government and nonprofit organizations in the areas of public relations, media relations, strategic marketing and traditional, new and social media. Previously, Bradley had worked at companies such as Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Sempra Energy in San Diego, Calif., and City of Seattle, City Light Division.
She holds a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing and bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Montana.
Western Area Power Administration annually markets and transmits more than 25,000 gigawatt hours of clean, renewable power from 56 hydroelectric powerplants owned and operated by the Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 15 western and central states. It is part of the Department of Energy.
