WESTERN EXTENDS COMMENT PERIOD FOR TRANSMISSIOM INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM UPDATES
LAKEWOOD, Colo. –In response to numerous requests, Western Area Power Administration is extending the comment period on proposed updates to the Transmission Infrastructure Program by 30 days.
Western will now accept written comments until Nov. 27.
The proposed revisions to Western’s TIP were published in a Federal Register notice Sept. 27. Proposed updates for TIP are intended to create a more efficient and transparent process to screen and evaluate proposed projects, lay out procedural requirements to advance proposals and improve communication with project applicants and partners.

All comments must be received by Nov. 27 to be considered. Western will post information about Program developments on its website, including written comments submitted.
After the commenting period closes, Western will consider public feedback and finalize program updates. Western will then solicit statements of interest from interested parties with project proposals.
