Access to Capital initiative

Western is concerned that capital funding constraints may hinder its ability to make timely investments needed to replace, refurbish and upgrade transmission facilities to ensure adequate and reliable power delivery to customers.

For most of Western's projects, there are only two funding sources: appropriations and customer advances. Through this initiative, Western and its customers will collaborate on expanding customer funding sources and also explore new access to funds for Western to increase its flexibility in meeting system needs now and in the future.

Western staff and customer representatives are working closely together in smaller groups to provide funding options and governance processes.
